9 Best Tapcart Alternatives in 2026 (Prices Compared)

The best Tapcart alternatives for most Shopify brands in 2026 are SimiCart, OneMobile, Superfans (formerly Vajro), Shopney, MageNative, Plobal Apps, Appbrew, Hulk Mobile App Builder and Evlop. Every one of them starts publishing for $79 to $199 per month, compared with $500 per month for Tapcart’s Growth plan, as listed on the Shopify App Store in October 2026. The right pick depends on what you would actually use from Tapcart: if you need A/B testing, developer tools or an uptime SLA, the list gets much shorter.

Key takeaways

  • Tapcart lists Growth at $500/month, Scale at $1,250 and Enterprise+ at $2,850, with a 7-day trial and no ongoing free plan.
  • All nine alternatives below start cheaper than Tapcart. Hulk is the lowest entry price in this list ($79/month), and SimiCart, OneMobile, MageNative and Evlop start at $99.
  • SimiCart and OneMobile list an ongoing free plan (SimiCart’s is for building and previewing; publishing starts at $99/month), and Plobal’s free Starter plan publishes but takes 3% of in-app sales. Most others offer a 14-day or 30-day trial, which is still longer than Tapcart’s 7 days.
  • Appbrew is the closest match if A/B testing and AI personalization are why you looked at Tapcart. Tapcart is still the stronger choice when you need an SLA, SOC 2 and a CLI for your developers.
  • If your App Store and Google Play accounts are in your own name (Tapcart asks for this), you can switch builders and keep your listing, reviews and installed base.

Disclosure: SimiCart is our product. To keep this comparison fair, every price, trial and rating below comes from each app’s own Shopify App Store listing, checked on October 5, 2026, and each section says what you give up compared with Tapcart. Prices change, so confirm on the listing before you sign up.

Why do merchants look for Tapcart alternatives?

Most merchants look for a Tapcart alternative because of price, the short trial and a feature set aimed at larger brands. None of this makes Tapcart a bad product. It makes it a product built for a specific kind of buyer, and many Shopify stores are not that buyer.

1. The entry price is $500 per month

Tapcart’s Shopify App Store listing shows three paid plans: Growth at $500/month, Scale at $1,250/month and Enterprise+ at $2,850/month. Over a year, Growth alone comes to $6,000 before store fees. For a brand doing a few thousand orders a month, that can be a reasonable bet. For a small store that wants to test whether customers will install an app at all, it is a large commitment.

2. The most talked-about features sit on higher plans

Growth includes unlimited notifications, integrations and 24/7 support. Advanced analytics, A/B testing and team access are listed on Scale ($1,250/month). The CLI, the 99.99% uptime SLA and SOC 2 are listed on Enterprise+ ($2,850/month). If a demo or case study sold you on A/B testing, budget for Scale, not Growth.

3. A 7-day trial is short for an app project

Designing an app, wiring up integrations and getting through Apple and Google review rarely fits into a week. Most alternatives below list 14-day or 30-day trials, and SimiCart and OneMobile let you build on a free plan with no time limit.

4. The setup assumes a registered company

Tapcart’s onboarding guide asks you to enroll your Apple and Google developer accounts as a Company or Organization and notes that a D-U-N-S Number is required for that. Owning your accounts is good practice, but sole traders may prefer a builder that can publish for them at first. Apple’s enrollment page confirms the $99 yearly fee and the D-U-N-S requirement for organizations.

The 9 best Tapcart alternatives in detail

1. SimiCart: publish from $99/month, free plan to build

SimiCart is a no-code builder that turns a Shopify store into native iOS and Android apps synced with the store. You can build, customize and preview the app on a real phone on the free plan, then publish to both stores from Basic at $99/month. Basic includes unlimited push notifications, product reviews, wishlist, product labels, live chat and quick add-to-cart. Pro ($149) adds a two-level category page, a smart app banner, app-exclusive discounts and loyalty program integration, and Premium ($249) adds app design support and a dedicated success manager. There is no success fee on any plan, and the app carries the Built for Shopify badge.

  • Best for: small and mid-size brands whose app budget is closer to $100 to $250 a month than $500 or more.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: no A/B testing, AI personalization, CLI or uptime SLA on the listing, no advanced analytics, and a much smaller review base (39 reviews at 4.5 vs Tapcart’s 341 at 4.7).

2. OneMobile: free plan and AI app design

OneMobile is the closest match to SimiCart on price. It lists a free plan with AI app design and 25 blocks, published under OneMobile’s own developer account, then Scale-up at $99, Brand-up at $299 and Omni at $990 per month. Its listing highlights an AI sales assistant, a user acquisition toolkit and its OneLoyalty add-on, and it has a strong review base (4.8 from 363 reviews).

  • Best for: merchants who want AI-generated design and loyalty from the same vendor.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: on the free plan the app sits under OneMobile’s developer account rather than yours, and Tapcart’s SLA and SOC 2 are not part of the entry plan. Ask in writing if you need them.

Details: how SimiCart and OneMobile compare.

3. Superfans (formerly Vajro): community and app-only drops

Vajro now appears on the Shopify App Store as Superfans. It lists Starter at $150/month and Unlimited at $1,000/month with a 30-day trial. The listing centers on app-only drops, live chat and custom feature development. It also has the largest review base in this list: 909 reviews at 4.9.

  • Best for: brands built around community, limited drops and fans who want early access.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: only two tiers, so the step from $150 to $1,000 is steep if you outgrow Starter. Tapcart’s enterprise extras (SLA, SOC 2, CLI) are not on the listing.

Details: SimiCart vs Superfans (Vajro).

4. Shopney: AR, back-in-stock and live selling

Shopney lists Silver at $149, Gold at $299, Platinum at $599 and Enterprise at $1,299 per month, each after a 30-day trial. Its listing features back-in-stock alerts from Silver; AR product views, barcode scanning, live selling and Klaviyo, Rebuy and Nosto integrations on Platinum; and multi-store support on Enterprise. It is rated 5.0 from 770 reviews.

  • Best for: brands that want shopping features like AR and live selling inside the app.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: Tapcart lists unlimited integrations from Growth, while Shopney puts Klaviyo, Rebuy and Nosto on its $599 Platinum plan, so compare like for like.

5. MageNative: AR and live video at $99 to $249

MageNative uses the same price points as SimiCart: Starter $99, Standard $149 and Premium $249 per month, with a 30-day trial. Its listing highlights AR and live video selling, and it is rated 4.8 from 340 reviews. The difference is inside the tiers: Starter lists 5 push notifications, and unlimited push is listed on Premium.

  • Best for: merchants who want AR or live video selling at a mid-range price.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: Tapcart’s Growth plan lists unlimited notifications; on MageNative you need Premium ($249) for that. Enterprise extras are not on the listing.

Details: SimiCart vs MageNative tier by tier.

6. Plobal Apps: unlimited push on every plan

Plobal Apps has been on the Shopify App Store since 2016. It lists a Starter plan that is free to install and publishes a native iOS and Android app, but charges 3% of total in-app sales once the app goes live, then Growth at $199, Essential at $499 and Enterprise at $1,199 per month, with a 30-day trial. Unlimited push notifications are listed on every plan, along with Apple Pay and abandoned browse campaigns. It is rated 4.8 from 148 reviews.

  • Best for: mid-market brands that run heavy push campaigns and want abandoned browse flows.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: Plobal’s upper tiers ($499 and $1,199) approach Tapcart’s pricing, so the saving is largest on Growth. A/B testing and SOC 2 are not on the listing.

Details: SimiCart vs Plobal Apps.

7. Appbrew: the closest match on A/B testing and AI

Appbrew is the alternative most similar to Tapcart in focus. It lists a 30-day trial, then Starter at $199, Pro at $599 and Enterprise at $1,099 per month, and Starter and Pro list additional charges based on app performance. The listing features the Milo AI growth assistant, A/B testing, AI personalization and native subscriptions. It is rated 5.0, from a smaller base of 75 reviews.

  • Best for: DTC brands that want experimentation and personalization without Tapcart’s price.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: a shorter track record on the App Store (listed since 2022 vs 2017 for Tapcart) and fewer reviews. Check which plan includes the A/B testing you need.

Details: SimiCart vs Appbrew.

8. Hulk Mobile App Builder: lowest entry price here

Hulk lists Basic at $79/month, which is the lowest entry price in this list, then Pro at $149 and Pro+ at $249. The free plan is for development stores only, and the listing mentions a 14-day free trial on its plans. Basic is limited to 30 push notifications; Pro lists unlimited push. The listing also mentions 40+ integrations. Hulk carries the Built for Shopify badge and is rated 4.4 from 75 reviews.

  • Best for: very price-sensitive stores that send few push campaigns at first.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: the 30-push cap on Basic means most active brands will need Pro ($149). Enterprise extras are not on the listing.

9. Evlop: custom code blocks for flexible design

Evlop lists a 14-day free trial, Starter at $99, Professional at $249 and Business at $499 per month. Its standout feature is custom blocks written in HTML, CSS, JS and Liquid, listed on Professional, which suits teams that want to go beyond a fixed set of design blocks. The listing also mentions Klaviyo and Judge.me integrations. Evlop carries the Built for Shopify badge and is rated 4.9 from 54 reviews.

  • Best for: stores with someone comfortable writing front-end code.
  • What you give up vs Tapcart: custom blocks are not a full developer platform like Tapcart’s CLI and Developer Portal, and they start at $249, not $99.

When is Tapcart still worth it?

Tapcart is still worth the price if you will use its experimentation, developer and compliance features and your app revenue can carry $6,000 (Growth) to $34,200 (Enterprise+) a year in plan fees.

  • You run experiments: A/B testing, segmentation and AI personalization are part of how your team works, and you can justify Scale ($1,250/month).
  • You have developers: they will build custom extensions with Tapcart’s CLI, Agent MCP and Developer Portal.
  • Procurement asks for it: a 99.99% uptime SLA and SOC 2 are requirements, not nice-to-haves (Enterprise+).
  • You want a long track record: Tapcart has been on the Shopify App Store since April 2017 and has 341 reviews at 4.7.

If none of those apply, you are mostly paying for capacity you will not use. Our in-depth Tapcart review goes through its features one by one if you want to check.

How do you switch from Tapcart to another app builder?

You switch by rebuilding the app in the new builder and shipping it as an update to the same App Store and Google Play listings you already own, so customers keep the app they installed. Here are the steps in order.

Step 1: Confirm you own the developer accounts

Tapcart’s onboarding has merchants register their own Apple and Google developer accounts and invite Tapcart as an admin. If you followed that, the listings are yours. Log in to App Store Connect and Google Play Console and check that you are the Account Holder (Apple) or owner (Google). If the app sits in someone else’s account, you will need a formal transfer. Apple says an app moved between accounts keeps its reviews and ratings, and Google says a transfer moves users, statistics, ratings and reviews to the new account.

Step 2: Keep the same listing, not a new one

Your iOS app is tied to a bundle ID, which Apple says cannot be changed after a build has been uploaded. Shipping the new app under the same bundle ID (and the same package name on Android) means existing users get it as a normal update and you keep your ratings. A brand-new listing starts at zero reviews and asks every customer to download again. Before you sign up, ask the new vendor directly whether it can publish an update to your existing listing.

Step 3: Plan for push notification opt-ins

Push opt-ins are the asset most merchants worry about. On iOS, Apple’s documentation says the system asks for notification permission the first time an app requests it and records the answer. On Android 13 and higher, notifications for a new install are off by default until the user allows them. That is another reason to ship an update rather than a new app: a new listing means a new install and a new opt-in prompt for everyone.

Your new builder also needs push credentials for your iOS app. Tapcart’s own transfer guide notes that new APNs certificates or keys may be needed. In practice, the new app registers devices with the new push service as customers open the updated version, so expect your reachable audience to rebuild over a few weeks rather than overnight. Ask Tapcart whether you can export any notification data before you cancel.

Step 4: Export what lives outside Shopify

Products, customers and orders stay in Shopify, so the new app picks them up when it syncs. Save everything else from Tapcart: app icons, splash screens, store screenshots, your home screen layout, deep links used in emails and ads, push campaign copy and analytics reports.

Step 5: Rebuild, test, then cut over

Rebuild and test the app on real devices while the Tapcart version stays live. Leave room for review: SimiCart, for example, processes a publish request within 48 hours, then Apple and Google usually take another 2 to 3 days. Cancel Tapcart only once the new version is live, then remove Tapcart’s admin access from App Store Connect and Google Play Console and announce the update by email.

If you are starting from scratch instead, budget for the store fees too: Apple charges 99 USD per year for its developer program and Google charges a US$25 one-time fee.

How to choose the right Tapcart alternative

Start with the one Tapcart feature you would miss most, then pick the alternative that covers it at a price you can sustain for a year.

  • Choose Appbrew if A/B testing and AI personalization are the reason you looked at Tapcart.
  • Choose Superfans or Shopney if community, drops, AR or live selling drive your app strategy.
  • Choose Hulk if the lowest monthly price matters most and you send few push campaigns.
  • Choose OneMobile if you want AI design and a loyalty add-on from one vendor.
  • Choose SimiCart if you want to build and preview free, then publish both apps from $99/month with unlimited push and no success fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best Tapcart alternative for small business?

For most small Shopify stores, the best Tapcart alternatives are the ones with a free plan or a low entry price: SimiCart, OneMobile, Hulk, MageNative and Evlop all start at $79 to $99 per month. SimiCart and OneMobile also let you build on a free plan first. Pick based on the features you need on the entry plan, such as push limits.

Is there a cheaper Tapcart alternative?

Yes. Every alternative in this list starts below Tapcart’s $500/month Growth plan. Hulk lists $79, SimiCart, OneMobile, MageNative and Evlop list $99, Shopney $149, Superfans $150, and Plobal and Appbrew $199 (Shopify App Store, October 2026).

Does any Tapcart alternative have a free plan?

SimiCart and OneMobile list free plans. SimiCart’s free plan lets you build, customize and preview the app on a real device, and publishing starts on Basic at $99/month. OneMobile’s free plan uses OneMobile’s developer account. Plobal’s Starter is free to install and publishes, but takes 3% of in-app sales once the app is live.

Will I lose my app reviews if I leave Tapcart?

Not if you keep the same listing. Reviews and ratings belong to the App Store and Google Play listing, not to the builder. If the new builder ships an update under your existing bundle ID and package name, your ratings stay. A new listing starts from zero.

Do customers need to download a new app after switching?

No, as long as the new app is published as an update to your current listing. Customers get it through a normal app update. If you publish a separate listing instead, every customer has to download the new app and opt in to notifications again.

Who are Tapcart’s main competitors?

On the Shopify App Store, Tapcart’s main competitors include Superfans (formerly Vajro), Shopney, OneMobile, MageNative, Plobal Apps, Appbrew, Hulk, Evlop and SimiCart. Appbrew is the closest in feature focus; the others compete mainly on price and specific shopping features.
