Vajro Review 2026: Now Superfans, Pricing, Pros and Cons

By Admin User Updated 12 min read
Vajro review

Vajro is now called Superfans, and it is worth it for Shopify brands that want a managed, retention-focused app with app-only drops, live selling and close support, at $150/month on Starter or $1,000/month on Unlimited. It is a weaker fit for small stores that want to build and preview for free, or that need multiple languages and currencies without paying $1,000 a month. The app keeps its Vajro history on the Shopify App Store: a 4.9 rating from 909 reviews, one of the largest review bases in the category (checked October 2026).

Disclosure: SimiCart is our product and competes with Superfans. Every Superfans price, plan feature and rating below comes from its Shopify App Store listing, website or help center, checked on October 5, 2026. Earlier versions of this article listed older Vajro plans that no longer exist; the prices below replace them.

Key takeaways

  • Vajro is now Superfans. The listing at apps.shopify.com/vajro shows “Superfans ‑ Mobile App Builder” by Superfans.io, and the company’s website calls itself “Superfans.io (formerly Vajro)”.
  • Two plans on the App Store today. Starter is $150/month and Unlimited is $1,000/month (or $10,000/year), each with a 30-day free trial. There is no free plan.
  • Old Vajro prices are out of date. The $99, $149, $299, $599 and $999 tiers you may see in older reviews, including earlier versions of this post, are not on the current listing.
  • Reviews are strong, with a pattern in the complaints. 889 of 909 reviews are 5 stars. Most of the 16 one- and two-star reviews describe slow design changes or billing disputes.
  • SimiCart costs less to publish. SimiCart publishes from $99/month, has a free plan to build and preview, includes multiple languages and currencies on every plan, and holds the Built for Shopify badge, which the Superfans listing does not show.

Is Vajro the same as Superfans?

Yes. Vajro rebranded as Superfans, and the same Shopify App Store listing (apps.shopify.com/vajro) now carries the Superfans name, with its full Vajro review history and its original launch date of April 12, 2018.

The rename came with a new pitch. Vajro marketed a general mobile app builder; Superfans positions the app as a loyalty and retention channel for a brand’s best customers. Its homepage talks about early access, VIP experiences and “push-powered journeys”, and says the product is “built by the team behind 5,000+ mobile apps” and rebuilt as an all-new version. AppMaker’s 2026 roundup describes it the same way: the rebrand of Vajro, repositioned around loyalty and retention.

For merchants, the practical changes are the name, the plans and the developer name on the listing (Superfans.io, with an address in Irving, Texas). Some help center pages still say “Vajro”, so do not be surprised to see both names during setup.

What is Superfans (formerly Vajro)?

Superfans is a no-code mobile app builder that turns a Shopify store into native iOS and Android apps, with a focus on push notifications, app-only drops and live selling. The listing says you can build with a drag-and-drop editor, send unlimited push notifications to customer segments, connect your existing apps, host live sessions in the app and on Facebook, and get 24/7 support.

The app syncs with Shopify in real time, so product and price changes flow into the app. The listing names integrations with Gorgias, Meta Ads, Google Ads, Judge.me, Videowise, Tolstoy, Klaviyo, Attentive, Recharge, Okendo, Weglot, Skio, Recurpay, Smile, Yotpo, Swym and Swish. Its website says you can build in 60 minutes and use the 30-day trial to go live.

How much does Superfans (Vajro) cost?

Superfans costs $150/month on Starter or $1,000/month on Unlimited, with a 30-day free trial and no free plan. Charges are billed in USD every 30 days through Shopify. Here are the plans as listed on the Shopify App Store, checked October 2026.

Why do Vajro prices look different across the web?

Because Vajro changed its plans more than once, and older pages were never updated. Earlier versions of this article showed both a $149 to $999 four-plan table and a $99 to $999 list, and an older Superfans help center article still says Vajro offers four plans. Today’s App Store listing has two plans: $150 and $1,000 per month. Superfans’ own pricing page goes further and shows only the Unlimited plan, at $1,000/month for brands under $20M in annual revenue, with a “Contact us” price above $20M.

Two practical notes. First, existing customers may still be on legacy plans: a June 2026 reviewer described paying almost $600 a month, which is not a current listed price. Second, a February 2025 reviewer said their bill rose to $500/month after reaching an order threshold. That was under older pricing, but it is worth asking Superfans in writing whether any usage or order-based charges apply to your plan.

What else will a Superfans app cost?

Budget for your own developer accounts if you publish under your brand. The Apple Developer Program costs $99 per year and a Google Play developer account costs $25 once. On Starter, a first year is about $1,924 ($150 x 12 + $99 + $25). On Unlimited with annual billing, it is about $10,124.

What are Superfans’ key features?

Superfans’ core features are unlimited push from Starter, app-only drops and discounts, in-app live chat, live selling and, on Unlimited, custom feature development.

  • Push notifications: unlimited on both plans, sent to specific customer segments, with abandoned cart, back-in-stock, scheduled and personalized notifications listed as features.
  • App-only drops and discounts: release products or offers only in the app, a core part of the “superfans” pitch. Starter lists app-only discounts and product drops; Unlimited adds app-exclusive drops and discounts.
  • Live selling: host live sessions in the app and on Facebook. The listing does not say which plan includes it, so confirm during the trial.
  • In-app live chat and size charts: on Starter.
  • Design: a drag-and-drop editor with templates, banners and homepage, product and cart page customization. Unlimited removes block and landing page limits.
  • Localization: multi-currency and multi-language are listed on Unlimited, not on Starter.
  • Custom development: Unlimited includes custom feature development, and the website adds a dedicated design manager, a strategic account manager and a dedicated Slack channel.

What are the pros of Superfans?

Superfans’ biggest strengths are its very large review base, its managed, high-touch service and its retention features.

  • A large, consistent review record. 4.9 from 909 reviews, with 889 at 5 stars, is one of the biggest review bases among Shopify app builders.
  • High-touch support. Reviewers often name their account managers and describe proactive strategy help, not only ticket replies.
  • Retention features. App-only drops, app-only discounts and live selling suit brands with a loyal community that shows up for launches.
  • Long-term users. Two of the most recent five-star reviews come from merchants with about four years on the app. A July 2026 reviewer wrote: “My app never goes down and has never suffered any issues with downloading or sales.”
  • Custom work on Unlimited. Custom feature development and a dedicated design manager are unusual at any price.

What are the cons of Superfans?

Superfans’ main drawbacks are the jump from Starter to Unlimited, features locked to the $1,000 plan, and a recurring complaint about slow changes.

  • No free plan. You get a 30-day trial rather than an ongoing free plan to build first.
  • A big gap between plans. Starter is $150/month and the next step is $1,000/month. Stores that outgrow Starter have no middle option.
  • Localization on Unlimited only. Multi-currency and multi-language are listed on Unlimited, so a store selling in two currencies may need the $1,000 plan.
  • Design changes can depend on the team. A merchant with about two years on the app wrote in January 2026: “They control the app design so you can’t update it yourself.” Another said simple banner updates took weeks. Other merchants report the opposite, so ask how much you can change yourself.
  • Billing and live selling complaints. Some one-star reviews describe disputed charges, and a June 2026 reviewer reported repeated live selling outages.
  • No Built for Shopify badge. The Superfans listing did not show the badge as of October 5, 2026.

What do merchants say in Superfans (Vajro) reviews?

Most merchants praise the support and the finished app; the small group of critical reviews focuses on response times after launch.

Shopify’s AI summary of the reviews says merchants like the “clean, on-brand design, real-time Shopify syncing, and drag-and-drop customization”, report higher sales from push notifications and live shopping, and describe support as outstanding. A US merchant with almost four years on the app wrote on June 29, 2026 that “it’s rare to get support this good.”

The critical side is small in number (16 one- and two-star reviews out of 909, under 2%), but consistent in theme:

  • Slow changes after launch: merchants describe waiting weeks for design or banner updates (January 2026 and earlier).
  • Live selling reliability: a long-time user reported live stream failures in early and mid 2026.
  • Billing: disputed charges and plan changes, mostly in reviews from 2022 to 2025.

Superfans replies publicly to some reviews. Because the brand and plans changed, weight the 2026 reviews more heavily than older Vajro-era ones.

Superfans (Vajro) vs SimiCart: how do they compare?

SimiCart publishes for less, lets you build for free first and includes multiple languages and currencies on every plan, while Superfans has a much larger review base, live selling and custom development on Unlimited. Here is a side-by-side, as listed on the Shopify App Store, checked October 2026.

At entry level, SimiCart Basic ($99) costs $612 a year less than Superfans Starter ($150). If you need multiple currencies, the gap widens: SimiCart includes them on every plan, while Superfans lists them on Unlimited. Superfans’ advantages are its review base, live selling and a vendor team that will build custom features for you on Unlimited. For the full table, see our SimiCart vs Superfans (Vajro) comparison.

Should you choose Superfans or SimiCart?

Choose Superfans if

  • App-only drops, VIP access and live selling are the main reason you want an app.
  • You want the vendor’s team to manage design and build custom features, and $1,000/month fits your budget.
  • A long track record and hundreds of reviews matter most to you.

Choose SimiCart if

  • You want to publish iOS and Android apps for $99/month instead of $150.
  • You want to build and preview the whole app on a real phone for free before paying.
  • You sell in several languages or currencies and do not want to pay $1,000/month for that.
  • You want to make design changes yourself, the Built for Shopify badge and design support at $249/month (Premium).

How do you pick the right plan for your store?

Pick the cheapest plan that covers your must-have features, then add Apple’s $99 yearly fee and Google’s $25 one-time fee to get your real cost.

  1. List your must-haves. For example: unlimited push, app-only discounts, two currencies.
  2. Map them to plans. On Superfans, two currencies point to Unlimited ($1,000/month). On SimiCart, Basic ($99/month) covers push and currencies, and Pro ($149/month) adds app-exclusive discounts.
  3. Ask about legacy and usage charges. Given the older pricing reports, ask Superfans to confirm in writing that your plan has no order-based increases.
  4. Test on a real phone during the trial. Check checkout, discounts and every third-party app you rely on, and find out which design changes you can make yourself.

You can do this on SimiCart without paying: create your Shopify app for free, preview it on your phone, and compare the SimiCart plans when you are ready to publish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Vajro the same as Superfans?

Yes. Vajro rebranded as Superfans, and the Vajro listing on the Shopify App Store (apps.shopify.com/vajro) now shows the name Superfans, developed by Superfans.io. Its website calls the company “Superfans.io (formerly Vajro)”.

How much does Vajro cost in 2026?

Superfans, formerly Vajro, lists two plans on the Shopify App Store: Starter at $150/month and Unlimited at $1,000/month or $10,000/year, each with a 30-day free trial (checked October 2026). Older Vajro prices such as $99, $299 or $999 per month are no longer listed.

Does Superfans have a free plan?

No. Superfans offers a 30-day free trial but no ongoing free plan. SimiCart has a free plan to build and preview the app, with publishing from $99/month.

Is Superfans (Vajro) worth it?

It is a strong choice if app-only drops, live selling and a managed, high-touch service are central to your plan, and it has a 4.9 rating from 909 reviews. If you mainly need a published app with push notifications and want to control the design yourself, cheaper builders cover the basics from $99 a month.

Can I change my Superfans app design myself?

Superfans includes a drag-and-drop editor, so you can make many changes yourself. Some reviewers say larger design changes went through the Superfans team and took weeks, so ask during the trial which changes you can publish on your own.

What is the best Vajro alternative?

It depends on what you need. SimiCart is a lower-cost option that publishes from $99/month with a free plan to build first. Shopney is the other builder with a large review base, starting at $149/month, and Tapcart suits enterprise brands from $500/month.
