Mobile app server

Mobile app server refers to a server that hosts, installs, and operates mobile applications and other services. A mobile app server is a key component in EMM (enterprise mobile management). With the rise in BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) businesses are facing an increasing need to have a comprehensive system that supports the use of company applications as well as data on a variety of devices and operating systems. EMM has emerged as a solution to this problem. In this context, the mobile app server is the centralized system that stores company apps and oversees their deployment, distribution of updates, and removal if necessary.

The mobile app server consists of both a server operating system and server hardware. They function simultaneously to allow for stability of remote accessibility and app services, of which authentication, updates ,and security features are included. In this system, the mobile application server communicates with the client component, which operates on the mobile device to receive apps, download updates, and follows the commands on the server. All of these functions occur OTA (over-the-air). This allows for configuration of app settings, distribution of updates and data wipe from a remote location by the administrator.

In a mobile application server, the key features include user management, data redundancy, security of the application and data, high levels of availability, a centralized interface for management, and load balancing. Mobile application servers are beneficial and essential because they allow employees to use the mobile device of their choice, and they offer a simple solution to the issues created by BYOD platform.
