Every business has its own issues. Sometimes it is out of our control however sometimes, it’s not. Listen to each complaint and try to evaluate how you can approach and improve on this the next time around. Or even when you cannot improve the situation, try to make sure that your customers are heard.

3. Remember the little details of your customers lives

Taking care of customers’ daily lives is another smart tip you should follow if you do not know how to engage customers in retail. Little things such as clients’ birthday, their marriage status, some upcoming events that they might be interested in, etc. Each customer is different, though, and some may respond to these small talks in a negative way. But if the conversation is carried in a polite and caring way, most of the customers will appreciate it. Do not go too deep and take to much of their time, though; or else they will just abandon you.
